Ribbon blenders are one of the most versatile, cost effective and commonly used mixers for dry solids in all process industries from pharmaceutical to general chemical, food, beverages, cosmetics, plastics, agricultural chemicals, polymers and other proceed industries.
Ribbon blenders are well-suited for mixing a variety of solids and light pastes. The action of the inner and outer ribbons provides efficient and economical blending.
Ribbon blenders consist of a U-shaped horizontal trough and a specially fabricated ribbon agitator, which includes inner and outer helical blades. Approximately two-thirds of the container volume is filled to ensure proper mixing. Ports on the top cover allow for material charging and air venting. A discharge valve is provided at the bottom center of the container, with adjustable discharge height to facilitate direct transfer to another container, minimizing material handling time and ensuring dust-free operation.
In Ribbon Blenders, the powder moves from the center to the end of the container and back to the center, reducing the total mixing time and RPM required for operation.
